1.Introduction

CaseBound, a Legal Marketing Arm company (“CaseBound,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit the CaseBound website, submit a form, call a telephone number displayed on our website or marketing materials, communicate with us, or otherwise use our services.

CaseBound provides legal marketing, client-acquisition, lead-generation, and related services. CaseBound is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation.

By using our website or submitting information to CaseBound, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2.Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with CaseBound, we may collect information including:

Contact Information: Name, telephone number, email address, mailing address, and other information you provide.

Case or Legal-Matter Information: Information you voluntarily provide regarding the nature of a legal issue, incident, dispute, claim, injury, proceeding, or other matter for which you may be seeking an attorney.

This may include information about dates, locations, injuries, damages, opposing parties, employers, medical treatment, insurance, court proceedings, arrests, allegations, family matters, or other facts relevant to evaluating a potential legal matter.

Communications: Information contained in telephone calls, forms, emails, text messages, chat communications, voicemails, or other communications with us.

Technical Information: Depending on the technologies operating on our website, we may collect IP addresses, browser information, device information, referring URLs, pages viewed, approximate geographic information, interaction data, and similar technical information.

Marketing and Attribution Information: We may collect information regarding how you found CaseBound, including advertisements, search queries, referral sources, landing pages, campaign information, and conversion activity.

3.Sensitive Information

Information concerning a potential legal matter may be sensitive.

Please provide only information reasonably necessary for us to understand your inquiry and potentially connect you with an appropriate participating law firm or attorney.

Submitting information to CaseBound does not create an attorney-client relationship with CaseBound or with any attorney or law firm.

Unless and until an attorney or law firm expressly agrees to represent you, you should not assume that information submitted through CaseBound is protected by the attorney-client privilege.

4.How We Use Information

We may use information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries;
  • Evaluate and qualify prospective legal leads;
  • Determine whether an inquiry may meet the criteria of one or more participating attorneys or law firms;
  • Connect prospective clients with participating attorneys or law firms;
  • Facilitate telephone calls or live transfers;
  • Facilitate communications regarding potential representation;
  • Assist participating law firms with client-acquisition and intake processes;
  • Operate and improve our website and services;
  • Measure advertising and marketing performance;
  • Detect fraud, abuse, or security issues;
  • Maintain business and operational records;
  • Comply with applicable laws and legal obligations; and
  • Protect CaseBound, our users, participating firms, and others.

5.Qualified Leads

CaseBound may evaluate information submitted by prospective clients to determine whether an inquiry meets certain criteria established by CaseBound and/or participating attorneys or law firms.

If an inquiry appears to qualify, information supplied by the prospective client may be provided to one or more participating attorneys or law firms for evaluation and follow-up.

A determination by CaseBound that an inquiry is a “qualified lead” or similar designation is a marketing or intake determination only. It is not a legal determination regarding the merits, value, viability, or likely outcome of any case or claim.

6.Telephone Calls and Live Transfers

CaseBound may operate telephone numbers, call-routing systems, intake systems, or other technologies designed to connect prospective clients with participating attorneys or law firms.

When appropriate, a caller may be transferred directly to a participating firm or its intake personnel.

The attorney or law firm receiving a call is independently responsible for evaluating the matter and determining whether to offer representation.

7.Signed-Case and Retainer Opportunities

In some circumstances, CaseBound's services may involve prospective clients who progress beyond an initial inquiry and are presented with an opportunity to enter into an attorney-client relationship with a participating law firm.

Any attorney-client relationship exists solely between the client and the attorney or law firm that accepts the representation.

CaseBound is not a party to the attorney-client relationship and does not control the attorney's professional judgment, legal strategy, fees, representation, settlement decisions, or handling of the matter.

8.How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to:

Participating Attorneys and Law Firms. We may provide information to attorneys or law firms that may be interested in evaluating or handling the legal matter described by the prospective client.

Service Providers. We may use companies that provide hosting, analytics, communications, telephone, CRM, intake, advertising, security, data processing, or other business services.

Business Partners. Information may be disclosed to businesses assisting CaseBound with lead generation, intake, marketing, referral routing, or client acquisition, where permitted by applicable law.

Legal and Compliance Purposes. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, governmental requests, enforce our agreements, investigate fraud or misuse, or protect legal rights or safety.

Business Transactions. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

9.Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

CaseBound operates a lead-generation and client-acquisition business. As part of that business, information submitted by prospective clients may be provided to participating attorneys or law firms that may be able to assist with the matter.

Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, certain transfers of personal information may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or similar disclosure under state privacy laws even where the information is provided for the purpose of connecting a consumer with a service provider.

Where applicable, consumers may have rights to opt out of certain uses or disclosures of personal information.

10.Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

Our website may use cookies, pixels, analytics systems, advertising technologies, call-tracking technologies, and similar tools.

These technologies may help us understand website usage, measure advertising performance, identify referral sources, improve our services, and determine whether marketing campaigns result in inquiries, telephone calls, or other conversions.

The technologies used may change over time.

11.Telephone, SMS, and Electronic Communications

When you provide a telephone number, email address, or other contact information, you authorize CaseBound and, where applicable, participating attorneys, law firms, intake providers, or service providers to contact you regarding your inquiry.

Communications may include telephone calls, emails, or text messages.

Consent to receive marketing communications is not a condition of hiring an attorney or purchasing services where prohibited by applicable law.

Message and data rates may apply to text communications.

You may request that communications stop at any time. For text messages, you may reply STOP where supported.

12.Call Recording and Monitoring

Telephone calls involving CaseBound may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance, intake, training, compliance, attribution, fraud prevention, or other legitimate business purposes, where permitted by applicable law.

Where legally required, notice or consent will be obtained before recording.

13.Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, maintain business and compliance records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy applicable legal obligations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.

However, no website, network, database, transmission method, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
